STOP THE SILENCE AND START TALKING
I am really pleased to look at the POINT OF SKIN March calendar!
Celebrating the international Women’s Day, welcoming Spring, announcing the Bionome week and closing this month with the Cream Cocktail makes March 2010 the most effective month (in my opinion).
Looking at the March event calendar, I can not imagine having less than a “weekly promotion”. Anything else will look empty and incomplete! What else…
At this point, (the what) the attractiveness of the promotions is meaningless (and they are absolutely attractive). What matters at this point is the conversation itself, the layouts and the declaration that we are ready to go out of our convenience and create something nice for you (for the consumers).
Something nice for your eyes to look at: something nice to read and a way to get some more inspiration / ideas about improving your skin as well as some very attractive special offers.
This (the event calendar) is purely a conversation that we have with out customers saying that we care to do something for them.
Yes, this is a conversation…imagine having a relationship with no conversation at all…or, just saying one single message during a whole month and keeping silent for the rest of the month. Does it make sense to communicate with your family and friends once a month? The same rational goes for communicating with your customers / your assets / your friends…
I wish I could even increase this conversation and do those events, those promotions each day…(Thanks to Stephanie)

A WEEKEND WITHOUT A KEYBOARD
My computer keyboard broke down.
I went to the nearby computer store to get a new one.
When I was back and connected the new keyboard, it didn’t work!
So, back I went to the computer store. They sales guy there connected the keyboard to his own computer and it worked. I guess that I did something wrong.
I thanked him and wanted to leave. He said, “Wait…seeing that we are closed for the weekend and you might still face some trouble with this one, here is another keyboard just in case…”. He further said… I trust that you return the additional keyboard next week. He didn’t ask me for my address or any ID card…just pure trust!!!
Where do you think will I buy my next computer stuff???
Fortunately, when I came back home, I connected the same keyboard and it worked!
It was clearly my fault of not following the instructions.
You may face customers that come back to you saying “this cream doesn’t work…”
You know what to do:
1. Make sure that the customers uses the product properly and according to the “instructions” that are mentioned on the jar.
2. Ask the customer to try the product again, this time keeping to the instructions.
3. Give the customer another sample of a similar alternative product (free of charge) just in case…
4. Offer the customer a “solid 100% guarantee” that if the product still doesn’t work, the customer will receive another product free of charge or his/her money back.
*Customer service has a value on its own. It either makes your business more attractive or less attractive. The computer store that I write about isn’t the cheapest one, still, the excellent customer service (adds the value) makes it stand out and deserve my money.
* Customer service is something that customers talk about with other customers, on BLOGS, with their family and friends etc…! You better make sure that they talk “good” about you…
See? Even I am talking and writing about it right now.
PS- Only now when I added the link of their website, I noticed that they were nominated and got the 3rd respected place (Amoung Acer dealers), for me they are number1 (because of their attitude).

EVERY ONE WAITS FOR YOU
Wherever there are people, there are problems. You and your business job is to solve those known problems.
Your value is directly connected in your ability to solve people’s problems.
I will spend this Sunday shooting Videos with Point Of Skin Munich. The Theme is (naturally) about how Point Of Skin is going to solve customer’s problems.
So, each Video will mention a specific problem and the valuable solution that Point Of Skin offers to solve each problem.

PS – you don’t need to be a movie star to sit in front of an average video camera and explain and demonstrate how you can solve people’s problems.

STICKY TRANSPARENT
I saw this video on my facebook posted by one of the “friends”.
This video explains in the simplest way the entire story of building a movement, a BRAND and about leadership.
The analogy of this simple video to a business is that in this VIDEO there is a full transparency between the leader and the followers. In other words, the followers can see the progress and decide when to join.
In real business situations, the followers can not have the transparency and therefore the influence that the leader may have on his/her potential followers is so limited.
So, what should you do? The answer goes back to delivering full transparency about the growth of your business and the growth of the group of your followers. Having a video camera, collecting as many live testimonials from the existing followers will deliver a relatively good transparency to the other potential followers and this may well be the turning point / the tipping point that will make the real difference and will make the other potential followers become actual followers.
In any case- you need to stick in and never give up until the first followers join you. Then, you need to take them on video and spread the videos in all possible channels. Repeat this process again and again to get even more followers. Then, let the followers spread the message. They are many and have much more power to spread the message than you have. Make them, the followers the main point of your business and tell the stories about how they feel with you and with your business etc…
Equip them with the tools (videos and communication packs) that they can forward to their friends and ask them to join…
Make your business as transparent as possible, otherwise, it will never pick up.
Have the patience to stick in regardless and NO MATTER WHAT until the tipping point will arrive (and it will).

THE 9000 POINT OF DIFFERENTIATION
I just returned from a 5 days trip to Turkey. It was a pleasure to see the serious work that Dr.Baumann Turkey does in regards to continuing to differentiate itself from any possible competition.
