If staying in your customers mind is an important issue for you, than giving out visit cards in a from of magnets (that include your business logo), nice pens that include your logo as well as other similar tools do a pretty good job.
Dr.Baumann Taiwan did it using poker cards with positive and negative ingredient information as well as the Bionome logo and the Bionome Principles…

Here are two true memorizable love stories, both took place in the Chitou Lemidi Hotel (see here). I discovered those two love stories today during the millionaire seminar III that ended today in Taiwan.
The millionaire seminar III took place in the magnificent resort Chitou Lemidi Hotel…So, first as a short background here is some info about the Chitou Lemidi Hote “About Lemidi – The Chitou Lemidi Hotel is named after French LEMIDI, and resolves to realize the dream of creating a vacation resort in catering to health, recreation, arts, taste, and intimate service in Taiwan. The hotel was built in Chitou for its dense original precious forest, various subtropical forests, refreshing Phytoncide, and valuable ecological environment. The hotel is even built according to valley terrain, which allows the Lemidi Hotel to become only mountain resort in Taiwan”
Here is the first story: (So beautiful)
During one of the breaks during the seminar I heard loud GONG bell sounds. I asked Marrble Kuo (the owner of DR BAUMANN TAIWAN) to explain what are those GONG sounds about? Marrble said that it is the sounds of the HAPPY BELL? I still didn’t understand and Marrble took me to see the HAPPY BELL, next to the HAPPY BELL he showed me this golden plate and told me the story…

And here is the STORY: Next to the golden plate stood proudly the two STONE LIONS (I will come back to the HAPPY BELL …just now). Here is how it goes: The origin of stone lions -A pair of giant stone lions several meters apart were situated at the front doors of Lemidi Hotel; however when Taochi typhoon struck Taiwan, two stone lions were affected by landslide and relocated. Later on it’s found that two stone lions would sit side by side. It seems that even the relentless strike of the nature couldn’t break the power of love. Lemidi Hotel even held a special wedding ceremony for the pair of stone lions by the presence of the Mayor of Nan-Tou County, symbolizing “Jack shall have Jill, all shall be well.”
Back to the HAPPY BELL- visitors who read the love story of the two stone lions and love the story are so happy that they beng on the HAPPY GONG to express their happy feelings about the story. thats why it is called the HAPPY BELL.
Second LOVE STORY: Background- The millionaire seminar III is about “multiply your wealth GENE”. This seminar concentrates on strategies that multiply your customers faster than ever imagined!!! One of the strategies is demonstrating how and why your best customers will turn into your strongest customer lead generator voluntarily (they will love to do it…)!!!
One of the principles is that you as a beauty salon/SPA owner will create content that your best customers will love to share (with their best friends). The seminar includes a workshop where beauty salon owners need to write down “What motivates you to wake up each day and manage your beauty salon/SPA.
Many very interesting and emotional stories were revealed!!! Four of the participants volunteered to come up and share their stories. The rest of the seminar participants acted as a jury that rated each of the stories.
Here is the story that was voted as the best one- A owner of a Point Of Skin told about her way until she opened her first beauty salon………………… she mentioned that a month after the opening she was told that she is pregnant (with a daughter). She was so excited that she made an immediate promise that she will dedicate her life mission to build the best beauty salon for her beloved daughter to take over once that her daughter will be ready for this mission (Transcendence …).
The other 3 stories were also as emotional and great stories as well….
The 4 beauty salon owners and their great stories were recorded on video and their stories as well as their videos will be published on the Point Of Skin websites once edited!!!
THE QUESTION IS – do you have a compelling story/stories about what really motivates you to do the job that you do, A TRUE PASSION that people will memorize? A touching story that customers will want to share with their colleges and friends?
Great businesses have great stories to tell. Those stories stay/stick in customers memories forever and in any case far longer than any boring facts, numbers, statistics and alike!
You actually MUST FIND THOSE STORIES DEEP INSIDE YOU…otherwise, you aren’t doing what you really love to do! And it shows…

Here is a short post from Taiwan. I just finished the first day of the Millionaire Seminar III that takes place in a beautiful stunning location in one of the highest mountains in the center of Taiwan.
One of the many things that I like about DR BAUMANN TAIWAN is the serious and most professional way that they practice their job!
They have a videographer that follows their seminars and other initiatives like a shadow! They video everything that moves (from the millionaire seminars to the team meetings that we do each time that I visit them).
The 10 hours of the millionaire seminars footage is sliced into 3-5 minutes short videos giving DR BAUMANN TAIWAN approximately 100 videos of each of the 3 different millionaire seminars that we did so far (so, so far over 300 videos).
This huge amount of information can be/will be used to recruit, improve and inspire both the seminar participants as well as to recruit more exciting customers (By sharing with them some of the insight of those seminars…).
If you thought that running a beauty salon/SPA or a distribution without using video is an option…THINK AGAIN (and watch the video below). Customers do not expect you to be a professional videographer (not at al), however, customers (today) expect you to share your knowledge and what is so special about what you do…and they expect that you share it with them on VIDEO!
No wonder that most cellular phones and small inexpensive cameras include video capability as a standard!
This is one of the reasons that the next international seminar starting in Germany on November the 8th will include learning the skill of shooting videos, editing them and publishing!
If you really want to spread your ideas and inspire potential customers to join, ignoring VIDEO is ignoring the realty about the new demands and the new habits of society.
I know that I mentioned this VIDEO issue in other posts, however, I came across this video of TED (see below) and it reminded me to remind you AGAIN about how important this issue of VIDEO is.
PS- DR BAUMANN TAIWAN IS DOING GREAT AND GREW THIS YEAR BY 19% (so far) while selling more than some West European countries that have double the population of Taiwan.

The best advertisement is the one made by customers who praise your products.
Here is the deal that I would do if I was a DR BAUMANN beauty salon owner.
I would give out FREE OF CHARGE : a cleanser 75ml + a tonic 75ml + a 30 cream (from the DR BAUMANN INTENSIVE/SENSITIVE LINE) + a liposome (from the DR BAUMANN LINE not including the liposome super) to a customer that agrees to use those products and submit video testimonials about the changes that occur during one month from the beginning of the usage of those products.
One video that includes your first meeting with the customer displaying he customers current skin condition and what you prescribe to this customer.
Another video 2 weeks after using the products- this video should show the skin condition of this customer and let her talk about her feelings in regards to the changes and her feelings towards the products. Another video after 30 days from starting to use the DR BAUMANN products…with the same content as the second video…
If you do it with 10 customers you end up:
- Having 10×3 videos = 30 videos.
- You will be able to publish those videos on your website, your BLOG, your Youtube channel and or post it to your existing and new customers as well as letting those videos run in a loop on your big screen TV that you have in your beauty salon or in your street window.
- 10 customers that will be happy and thankful to receive FREE PRODUCTS that would normally cost them the full price.
- You will gain 10 customers that will remain loyal customers that will never buy any other skincare product but your DR BAUMANN products.
- You can continue to list all the other benefits that you can imagine to gain from such an initiative….
Summary: Your customers aren’t just the best source of your income but can turn into your most powerful advertisement.

DR BAUMANN HELLAS – COMMUNITY BLOG - I recently met Maria Paschalidi the DR BAUMANN distributor from Greece.
We spent 3 days together “talking business”.
The issue was building the DR BAUMANN SPIRIT, the DR BAUMANN CULTURE and the DR BAUMANN COMMUNITY in Greece.
We discussed the importance of creating content that will have a great value both to the end users as well to the DR BAUMANN customers (beauty salons) in Greece.
I received an e-mail today from Maria and I was so positively surprised!!! For the first time a beautifully designed DR BAUMANN BLOG in Greek!!! Well done Maria!!! see here. I especially loved the name COMMUNITY BLOG…Bingo!
We are currently busy designing the DR BAUMANN EXPORT BLOG and in the same time the DR BAUMANN BLOG for South Africa and France (an Identical BLOG).
The aim is to create valuable content that will connect consumers to beauty salons and to the DR BAUMANN COMPANY CULTURE. The DR BAUMANN BLOG will be published on October the 15th (the latest).
Sales isn’t a target but a result of planned set of activities that lead to sales. You have very little control on the sales themselves compared to the activities that you can prioritize and control.
Building a community, a culture around the idea that you want to spread will spread (see the video below). When you manage to build this culture and this community, sales become as an obvious result as people prefer to buy from their own community rather than from “outsiders”.
Having an active BLOG that delivers valuable content 365 days a year is what you can do and what you can control as your contribution to the community that you want to build. Sales will follow very soon!!! Congratulations again Maria!

Today I met the NEW DR BAUMANN DISTRIBUTOR for France. Part of the meeting was about positioning and pricing.
We compared the DR BAUMANN product prices to Guinot and to PAYOT , both well know French skincare manufacturers.
After doing the normal industry coefficients it came out that the prices of the DR BAUMANN CLASIC line is going to be very similar to the prices as Guinot and PAYOT. The SKINIDENT line is however going to be more expensive.
I started reading the book “The Culture Of Craft” (super interesting). The book adds light to the development of “craft” and it’s evolution into “Art”….
Understanding the real meaning of Craft versus Art can explain the raise of BMW, Apple as well as other successful businesses.
Those successful businesses developed their own culture of Art while building a community of fans who appreciate their Art. Those communities don’t bother with “prices” and rather enjoy the Art…
The manufacturers that evolved into Art try to price their products (of Art) while using coefficients that can allow them to continue to create Art…rather than sliding into regular “Craft”. Innovating Art is far more costly than making/doing Craft.
Art isn’t for everyone but for the people who appreciate it, enjoy it and are prepared to buy Art (not Craft).
It is a fine level of Art to make skincare that is similar and even more skincare that is 100% identical to the human body and skin.
Untrained people/consumers might find it difficult to differentiate between Craft and real Art. Therefore, concentrating on customer education is the first step that you should take in order to build your local community that appreciates the Art side of skincare rather than be confused between Craft and Art.
Once that this customer education will take place you will be surprised about how many customers will be happy to buy (from you) Real Art (SKINIDENT) in prices that are nearly as low as simple Craft.

Becoming a MILLIONAIRE is not a target, but a result.
Getting 1000 new customers each year again and again isn’t a target but a result.
It is a result of:
- Being great in what you do. (You and your staff).
- Constantly evolving-Constantly improving your professional skills.
- Constantly improving your relationship with your exciting customers.
- Increasing your contribution to your society- to your group.
- Always surprising your customers with SOMETHING NEW that you created for them, a new promotion, a set of special offers, a new design, a new service/treatment etc…always something new..always a nice surprise…
If you invest a cent in trying to get new customers before you maximized your investments in your own business evolution and growth and before investing first in the 5 upper areas is a total waste of time and money.
Getting 1000 new customers in one year is a direct result of the customer satisfaction of your current customers. Yes, this is how it normally works. if your customers are really satisfied, they will act as the main engine that will pull the new 1000 customers to your business.
If your current customers don’t actively and voluntarily reefer your business to their friends and circles, it is the first symptom that there is something missing in the above 5 points. figure it out (what is missing) and fix it a.s.a.p.
Being OK isn’t good enough to make customers WOW and refer your business. Being OK is just OK..not too good and not to bad…it is somewhere in the middle… nothing special and by no way something exciting to talk about…
Successful business ask themselves (constantly) “how can we improve and deliver: more, better, faster etc…”
If you come up with the answers to those questions you will turn into a really exciting business that customers will love to belong to and only then they actively introduce your business to their friends and circles.
There isn’t a point to set targets in regard to how many new customers you want to have before setting the new bar of exciting your current customers and in any case before maximizing on the upper 5 points.

I am nearly finished with my 2011 seminar plan.
I made it a habit, each year in September to design the following year.
Planning is designing your future the way you want it to be.
When you know what you want (to happen) it is much easier to plan the steps that will take you there.
Like everything in life, you can’t have it all. So, once you go into detailed planning it becomes so obvious that there isn’t enough time for everything. Hence, prioritizing becomes the number one issue.
When you take your plans and put them on a time chart (Gantt chart) you can have a much better view of the resources that are involved…and you can take better decisions.
Going into 2011 is like going on a trip carrying a rucksack. You pack only what is necessary and you leave all the rest out.
There are three important issue to take into consideration:
- That you don’t overload yourself, otherwise, your trip is going to turn into hell.
- That you don’t miss anything that is really essential. Have a list of everything that you may need.
- That you learn the route and coordinate everything in advance in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.
2010 is finished and you can’t do a lot to influence the outcome. However, you have some time (now) to summarize 2010, to learn from what worked (or didn’t) and start your 2011 growth plan. Otherwise, you will have very little control/influence about your future.
Starting your 2011 planning today still gives you the opportunity to think and choose exactly where you want to go instead of being pushed to where the situation dictates…You can choose!
When you are done with the planning, you can lean back and imagine the results. Those expectations (of the results) and living them in your imagination/ in your mind feels great! Try it out and see what I mean.
PS- Having a clear plan feel much nicer than having no plan at all!
Planning IS KNOWING WHERE YOU WANT TO BE (or having an idea) AND GOING BACK TO SIMPLY PLAN IT …STEP AFTER STEP

For many years (since the beginning) I was a MINOLTA FAN. My first camera was a MINOLTA. So, when MINOLTA merged with KONICA I didn’t feel so great…For a “strange reason” I even felt worse once (after the merge) they were called KONICA MINOLTA. I remember thinking “why at least aren’t the called MINOLTA KONICA instead”. I didn’t feel so great about this merging move. I could buy a KONICA camera (at the time) but I chose to buy a MINOLTA instead and here I find myself getting the KONICA “At the back door…”.
But as a loyal MINOLTA FAN I stayed wit MINOLTA konica…
Later, when MINOLTA was bought by SONY and there was no MINOLTA anymore I swapped to NIKON!!! MINOLTA was gone and I was gone too. But, if MINOLTA would have stayed…I would be a MINOLTA fan until today!!! When MINOLTA decided to stop to evolve so did I.
When things went “down hill” at Apple. Steve Jobs returned to his position and started to evolve the business. If Apple would go the MINOLTA WAY and merge with another company, many of Apple’s fans would leave and eventually if Apple would have let Sony (for example) swallow them…none (or most) of the today Apple users would buy a SONY APPLE computer. Especially if it would be called SONY.
It meant nothing (to MINOLTAS fans) when SONY said “Sony is the same MINOLTA but just with another name or if SONY would say “it is the same MAC but now it is called SONY.
If MINOLTA would have stayed so would the millions of MINOLTA’s fans stay. Because APPLE stayed so did the Apple fans. Apple fans were Apple fans even in times where Apple wasn’t such a great machine……the fans still followed and STAYED.
Football teams don’t loose their fans when they don’t always win…They STAY fans as long as the team exists/STAYS.
Not all the film (analog) camera fans stopped using their film cameras…They STAY as long as films STAY…Only when and if films for cameras will “leave” so will the film camera fans… leave…!!! They will not STAY.
Where do I go and what do I want to say? Here it is:
If you believe that your business is important, If you love what you do and most important if you stick to it and YOU STAY…so will your fans. They will STAY just because you STAY.
Your fans will be the ones that will spread the word about you and EVOLVE. They will evolve because EVOLVING (evolution) is what happens without any upper supervision or a special direction…it simply happens…ON CONDITION THAT YOU STAY.
In many cases, successful businesses didn’t succeed because they were better but simply BECAUSE THEY STAYED long enough until they became profitable. After becoming profitable, they didn’t have a reason to go…so they STAYED. And so did their fans STAY.
On the other hand, businesses that failed are the ones that didn’t have the patience (the passion)to wait and STAY and/or the cash flow and they didn’t stick (STAY). They left and by doing so, the EVOLUTION PROCESS stopped effecting them directly. Meaning the EVOLUTION PROCESS “didn’t have enough time” to positively influence and have its impact on their success.
BUT THE EVOLUTION PROCESS didn’t stop, it just swapped horses and rides on another similar business that DECIDED TO STAY. i.e: there may be start-ups that went out of business before managing to complete their project and their dreams. THEY DID NOT STAY. So, another company picked up their idea from the point that they left it and managed to bring the project to life…HOW COME? simply…the EVOLUTION STAYES and changed/played it’s impact to another business alike that decided to STAY!!!
AMAZON is another great example of a BUSINESS THAT STAYED (regardless to the enormous financial problems that they had at the time…), THEY STAYED AND THEY EVOLVED and see where they are today!!!
We all know a “bad restaurant” (that we find it as a bad one) that STAYS FOREVER…we ask ourselves, how come? How is it possible that this business didn’t close down? and still it goes on and on…IT IS SIMPLE…those “bad business” STAY simply because they STAY. Because STAYING in the game has its own rules …THE EVOLUTION RULES.
DR BAUMANN STAYS in business since the last 20 years…so do the DR BAUMANN FANS…THEY STAY. Not only that they STAY…the fans are the ones who EVOLVE and drive FURTHER SUCCESS!!
Many of the today successful business didn’t not succeed just because they were better, but, in many cases because their competition left the game (they did not STAY).
All together- I definitely don’t suggest that you run your business in a “bad” way and just STAY. What I want to say is that if you love what you do, you are passionate about it and you believe that your business is making a real contribution to your society…and the most important YOU DECIDE TO STAY regardless of…you will eventually EVOLVE and you will start gathering your true fans. The ones who will really appreciate you, what you do and your special contribution!!!
This POST should really simplify one of the most essential principles of success.
The EVOLUTION process has its own power and rules and you need to be there in order to gather this momentum….success will just follow as long as you are totally passionate about your business and as long as YOU DECIDE TO STAY. IT JUST MUST HAPPEN.
